Where are my books?! What was the last thing we did in class? What is my matric number? Where will I start?! What day is it?!
As the flurry of questions rush my mind, I am sure they filled yours too.
We were at home, we were all at peace and like a storm in the calm sea, the news came out. The strike is over! The strike is over!
It's no news that the 8-month strike was suspended on 13th, October. I’m not so sure how this makes me feel but one thing I do know for sure is that it's about to get real!
Where are my manners? Hiiii, it’s your boy Leonardo Da Vinci with another issue of Dubbing Center Gossip. How are you? How are you coping with the news of resumption? Feel free to reply to this email to let me know.
IEEE Updates…
Due to the resumption and exam rush, most activities for the IEEE Unilag SB have been put on hold till next year. Unfortunately, this also includes the newsletter.
This isn’t goodbye forever, It just means that you won’t be hearing from me twice a month as usual. Although, I shall be in your inbox again whenever there is an important update or I find any gossip I just can’t keep to myself.
Tools for the week…
Your Holy Book oo.
If you’re a fresher, one thing that saved the lives of my coursemates and me was Organic Chemistry Tutor (God bless whoever is behind that account). They have playlists for some courses that might threaten to choke you, especially FSCs.
Let YouTube be your friend this period. Just search for any course or topic you need further explanation on. Indian men >>>>>>>>
If you haven’t written and submitted all your lab reports or big assignments that involve typing, first of all, Sorry🥲. Secondly, because you probably have 1002 other things to do, you’re probably considering changing the name and Matric number on your friend’s own and submitting it as yours. I won’t judge you but you can use Quillbot to change some of the words and phrases so it isn’t too obvious to the lecturer.
Use Google Calendar and Google Tasks to plan and optimize your day. List out your tasks at the beginning of each day and work towards completing them as well as you can.
It’s been a pleasure being your friendly neighborhood Community Manager. I really appreciate the calls and texts I got from people in the community when I wasn’t feeling so good. I really love and appreciate you, esteemed reader, for the support you show me each time you open an issue of DCG.
To be honest, the rest of this semester won’t be easy at all. We will be rushed, and exams go actually choke. But before you get discouraged and give up before the battle even starts, remember that you aren’t the only one affected by this. There are thousands of other students who are pressured and panicking just like you. Even scholars are shaken. Those that will pass will still pass. Put in as much effort as you can, read, help others and just maintain a positive mindset.
PS: If you see me anywhere in school, just come and hug me👌.
Bye for now!
